From Corus Entertainment’s W Network and BBC America

TORONTO/LOS ANGELES/CANNES – October 9, 2013 – TEMPLE STREET PRODUCTIONS, the leading Toronto and LA-based television production company, is thrilled to announce Corus Entertainment’s W Network and BBC AMERICA have given the greenlight for a series order to its new one-hour documentary series, MILLION DOLLAR CRITIC.

Shooting in cities across North America, MILLION DOLLAR CRITIC was created by Temple Street Productions and developed in association with W Network.  The series is set to air on W Network in Canada and in the U.S. on BBC AMERICA in 2014.

The series introduces Giles Coren, the bitingly funny and controversial restaurant critic of The London Times, to North America.  Coren’s good opinion is said to be worth as much as a million dollars to those restaurants graced with his words of approval. In this series Giles will traverse cities and towns throughout Canada and the U.S., critiquing along the way as he discovers the newest, freshest, and most authentic dining experience out there and granting one lucky establishment his rave international review.

“We’re delighted to embark on our first series with W Network and continue our successful relationship with our friends at BBC AMERICA on this terrific project,” commented David Fortier and Ivan Schneeberg, Executive Producers and Co-Presidents, Temple Street Productions.  “We’re also very excited to be working with the incredibly talented Giles to bring this project to life.”

“It’s great to partner with Temple Street again and we’re thrilled to finally have a project with Giles Coren, combining his expertise as a journalist with his love of food and travel,” commented Richard De Croce, SVP Programming, BBC AMERICA.

"Giles Coren is one of those rare talents that we know will have a very broad appeal, and we are excited to be working with Temple Street Productions to bring his uniquely entertaining culinary insight to Canadian viewers,"  said Vibika Bianchi, Vice President, Original Programming, Women’s and Family Television, Corus Entertainment.  "We believe this new series will capture the zeitgeist of North American foodie culture in a highly engaging and fresh new format.”

Temple Street Productions produces a wide range of scripted and unscripted productions from prime-time television dramas and comedies, to kids and youth programs, to feature films and factual & reality series.  Past and present projects include Orphan Black (BBC AMERICA, Space), The Next Step (Family Channel), Being Erica (CBC, SOAPnet), Wingin’ It (Family Channel), Recipe to Riches (CBC), Over the Rainbow (CBC) and Canada’s Next Top Model (CTV).
