Hires Tayfun King as Head of Development, Factual Entertainment

LOS ANGELES/TORONTO – July 2, 2013 – TEMPLE STREET PRODUCTIONS, the leading Toronto-based television production company, is thrilled to announce the official opening of its LA office as part of its ongoing US expansion strategy to increase the Company’s factual, scripted and digital initiatives.

Gerry McKean, Vice President, Factual Entertainment, who is responsible for spearheading all factual and reality content for the Company will be based in the new offices.

In addition, TEMPLE STREET PRODUCTIONS is proud to announce the appointment of Tayfun King as Head of Development, Factual Entertainment (US), reporting to McKean.  Prior to joining the company, King worked at Discovery Studios and BBC Worldwide.  King’s producer credits include ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars,” NBC’s “Grease: You’re The One That I Want,” and “MTV’s Top Pop Group.”  In addition, he was David Beckham’s Producer on the international TV series, “David Beckham’s Soccer USA.”  Most recently at Discovery Studios, he developed the Oprah Winfrey Network’s “Blackboard Wars” as well as served as the Supervising Producer for the series.

In addition to a strong factual presence, TEMPLE STREET PRODUCTIONS is also looking to establish new scripted and digital divisions based in LA.

Earlier this month, the company announced its plan to open Boat Rocker Studios, Canada’s first digital content studio in Toronto.  Working with YouTube, Boat Rocker Studios will foster a campus-like environment for online creators to collaborate, gain expertise, receive business support and produce content that speaks to the new generation of viewers.
