Ottawa/Toronto November 30, 2011 – Temple Street Productions Inc. (Temple Street) won the prestigious 2011 Shaw Rocket Prize and $50,000 awarded to the best independently produced Canadian children's, youth, or family program.

The Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism- the Hon. Jason Kenney presented the award to Executive Producers David Fortier, Ivan Schneeberg and Frank van Keeken at a ceremony held last night in Ottawa at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier.

“Winning the Shaw Rocket Fund is extra special because it’s awarded by a very important judging panel – the kids!  From all of us at Wingin’ It we want to extend our thanks to the Shaw Rocket Fund for nominating us, Family Channel for their support and to our fans for being our divine inspiration for the show, interacting with our cast, and for sharing their experiences and triumphs!   The new season of Wingin’ It brings new challenges for Carl and Porter, but we know they will find a way to have fun while learning important life lessons too,” said David Fortier and Ivan Schneeberg.

The popular kids live-action comedy series Wingin’ It, follows the misadventures of teenage odd couple - Carl Montclaire (Dylan Everett, How to be Indie) a typical teenager trying to survive high school and ‘Angel-in-Training’ Porter Jackson (Demetrius Joyette, The Latest Buzz) as he tries to earn his angel wings by making Carl the most popular guy in school.   Commissioned by Family Channel, Wingin’ It is produced by Temple Street Productions. The series was created by Frank van Keeken (The Kids in the Hall, Billable Hours) and is executive produced by Frank van Keeken, Ivan Schneeberg and David Fortier.
